Terms of Use

You must be at least 13 years old to submit content. The site is intended for current and former students and for people researching universities.

No password is required. When you rate, you provide an email address, which determines how much your rating counts. You may rate each university, department and professor once. You may not use more than one email address, account or device to submit additional ratings of the same thing, and you may not submit ratings on behalf of anyone else.

Ratings and reviews must reflect your own experience. You may not post content that:

• harasses, threatens or attacks a person;
• contains private information such as phone numbers, home addresses or student records;
• is discriminatory or contains slurs;
• makes serious accusations of fact about an identifiable person without basis;
• is spam, advertising, or was written in exchange for payment or any other reward;
• infringes someone else’s copyright or other rights; or
• is about individual students. Professor pages are for classroom experience only.

Conflicts of interest. Employees, contractors and representatives of a university, and anyone acting on their behalf, may not rate or review that university or its departments and staff. Ratings that appear coordinated may be held or removed.

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it, you give Student Verdict a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and distribute it, including in aggregated scores and rankings, for as long as it remains on the site. You are responsible for what you post. Content is published anonymously; see the Privacy Policy for what is shown.

Reviews are not removed for being negative, or at a university’s request. We may hold, edit for privacy, or remove content that breaks these terms, and we may suspend accounts that abuse the site. When an account is suspended, its ratings stop counting. Automated checks may hold a rating for review before it is published.

Use the Report link on any review, comment or listing, or email support@studentverdict.com. Please include the page address and the reason. If you believe content is defamatory or infringes your copyright, say so and explain why; we review every request and may ask for more information.

Scores, rankings and reviews reflect the opinions of the people who submitted them, not statements of fact by Student Verdict. Rankings are calculated from those ratings as described on How Student Verdict works. Student Verdict is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any university. University names are used only to identify them. Campus photographs are used under their licences and credited where shown.

The site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be accurate, complete or available without interruption. To the extent permitted by law, Student Verdict is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or from content posted by others.

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
